I really respect that you acknowledged you may have unintentionally copied Moonlight, and reached out to the creator to make sure the similarities were okay. It shows integrity to me to not try and double down and assume just because you worked through the creative process that you can't subconsciously plagiarize something.

Albeit an annoyingly unexpected turn of events, this is the kind of stuff that inspires me and makes me feel like any song I could make could spontaneously combust.
