Thanks! This was so easy to understand :) I was also glad to see that you have the same Nook I have, so I have even more confidence in this method!

If you have a scanner, you can scan a graphic novel into a PDF and use it as an ebook. If you do that, I recommend using PDFill- a free Windows program for modifying PDF files, like cropping and rotating pages.

@MisfitX17 The nook color and the new nook tablet have some graphic novels available. I don't believe there's much for any of the black and white devices. One of the ways to tell is, go to the Barnes & Noble website and search for graphic novels. If they say "available as a nook book", then you know you can put them on a nook color or tablet.

I believe the BN library is exclusively for books you buy through your device. The books you buy have DRM, or digital rights management. The epub files you find for free have no rights management. If a free epub file is put in the BN directory, it may not be recognized. You can read epub files on your pc, though, either by downloading the 'nook for pc' app from .bn.com; or by using adobe digital editions (free software available from adobe). Hope this is clear as mud :-)

Would this method work for PDF files as well? A friend of mine just sent me a link to where I could get a free book in PDF format and I want to put it onto my nook, but I'm not sure how.

Could be it still has a copyright owner and so it couldn't be included in the manybooks database. I've seen that with some books I thought might be in the public domain but turns out they weren't.
