Thanks for the info.I have a BSA troop here in the states.This information will be valuable.With the way things seem to be going I am trying to focus alot of attention on survival skills.I don't want these boys to get in a situation and say"I did'nt know!"Thanks again.

Its like a tougher bigger knife, You can use it as a normal knife as well as a small axe. I just came back from a 7 day winterexercise and it is great when you need to make shelter in the snow and have to cut branches fast.

The Brit gortex bivi is awesome but like most Brit army issue stuff it's a heavy beast and takes up a lot of space I've started spraying my scratcher (sleeping bag) with water proofing and just taking extra car with my basha shelter

they are called ferrocium rods and they are really common. light my fire makes good ones, so does blast match. you can even buy blank ones and put on your own handle
