Nice work..
1crazyfocker (10 minutes ago)
it's all good, i am glad you liked it, i was thinking about it for a little while before building it, it was just chance that one day i found something that would work for a piston out of no where and thus built it right then and there thanks dud

Cool engine.

I used two mechanical pencils to make the power piston, (one had an earser cover that fit perfectly inside of the other pencil) I used a dried hard sponge as the displacer, I took the cap off of a superglue tube cut it and filled it with wax for the seal around the displacer rod.

Ha..Found you...you did well with this (got lucky ?) design..to get it to run with next to nothing in the way of a workshop or tools..Love the user name btw!

thank you

@ghettovr you can use plastic for some parts but you do need some metal like at the top and the bottom of the displasment cilinder to act like a heat sink,(transfers the heat in and out ), good luck

@Ooberpoonage its pretty simple to understand how they work, even wiki explains fairly well

can you please make a vid tutorial on how to make that??? GREAT!!!! 5/5

Well done!! Good job. It's amazing what you can make with junk around you if you get into the right frame-of-mind. I work well on sleep deprivation too! You say 3 hrs to build... just interested...How long had you been thinking about how you'd do it? Cheers!

Hey this looks really great.
1crazyfocker (13 hours ago)
No, that is what makes mine so "special"..lol it has a piston which is what make mine so "special" pretty much any and all soda can engines out there uses a diaphragm for the power "piston" (a cheat and easy way out IMHO) stirling's with pistons take longer to build and made with more precision and accuracy then this one... i was really proud of this because i made it in 1 day, in Iraq with no real tools.

does it need a diaphragm

Sorry mate, I meant to give you a 5 star rating (not a 3) for "Improvisation in a Foreign Land"! I clicked, -just trying to get into ratings & registered 3.
