the screw is securely attached to that clear disk. The foam cups do make noise if they try to remove it to switch it to another cup.

There's a different way of doing it. I saw a magician do it where the spectator mixed the cups without anybody seeing then the spectator looks away and the magician mixes the cups. Then the spectator makes the choices when he genuinely doesn't know where the spike is.

Great explanation Can't wait to use this on my show I've tried one by Eric James it was good but this methods better because there's no crushing the corners of the coasters which you would look for in his demonstration

YOU place the spike in the cup, because its styrofoam-you can hear if they try to switch the spike----its secure. You could also let them pick the cups and you DISCREETLY nail nick the cup which has the spike.

Hey buddy I truly thank you for this method. Of course there are others...but this is an Absolute way of doing practically Impromptu if the supplies were already present somehow but the method is freaking awesome.

it appears he knew where the spike was from the very start (after she mixed them). I would say a battery operated electromagnet, connected to a vibration motor would most likely vibrate when sleeve is near metal spike.

very nasty trick, some people are not that stupid and can take out the nail and put it into another cup while you are turned away.. now that's when you will get hurt, because the serial number you memorized is not the right one anymore.....
