I just replaced my Pentium dual core T2330 processor with a T8300 on my Satellite A205 S5812 Notebook (Santa Rosa CRB motherboard, BIOS Phoenix Technologies LTD Version 2.00 (01/31/2008)) and it was very good. The speed increased a lot. It was just change and restart the computer. It was not necessary to format anything.

I have a question, same socket, same chipset, but different generation(microarchitecture), will it work? And the mainboard says that it just has 1 chipset, example chipset HM65 sandybridge (gen2) , but i wanna give it an ivybridge (gen3) procie that work on same socket (G2) and same chipset (HM65), but it has different microarchitecture (gen3 and gen2), will it work?

what happens if no chipset comes up... I look for chipset and only find CPU specs...... I look forward to NO answer because the internet is so full of digital junk noise you probably won't get this.
