This is Kirk just being Kirk. This isn’t a surprise at all. Great coach but as far as being open to change is like pulling teeth for him and you wonder why there’s so many players transferring to other schools. It’s time to let Kirk go and rebuild a new era of Iowa football.

Did anyone notice there were a few times where the O line actually did a good job and Spencer Stood there in shock that he hadn’t been sacked instead of making a play.

We have seen this before with Jake Christiansen. In practice they wear a bright colored jersey that keeps them from being hit. Because of this, they look good in practice. In the game there is no colored jersey to protect them and they are afraid and subsequently get happy feet and cannot throw. Proof of this is in game one when we needed two more yards for a first down, and the quarterback slid to keep from being hit. You can see it in their eyes, and they act anxious. If Kirk was to take the colored jersey off in practice, it may then show the quarterbacks true form. Long, Banks, Stanzi, B.J., and Tate were not afraid.

I blame Brian Ferentz for offensive decline and I blame Kirk for clinging on to obvious NEPOTISM. BF NEEDS to go and if Kirk has to go too then so be it. I don't mind the conservative style but the offense has so many problems and that's all on BF imo.

Has anyone ever thought about asking Kirk why we have a 6'3" 210 5 star recruit who was a good receiver in high school sitting on the bench when we need all the help we can get heck Cooper Dejean would make plays desperate times call for desperate measures we have playmakers they are not using them

Nothing changes until Gary Barta gets fired. A real AD would have never allowed Haircut to be made AD. Not to mention all the money the Iowa Athletic program has had to pay out over Barta mistakes.

Sadly it's because today coach hasn't how we say bought into the fact you can buy players, yet. And yes you have to donate back a percentage of your huge salary to make that happen. Get 1 good player then two then three Invest in your product. in a sense hiring family and so on. Squeezing that paycheck ain't gonna work long-term. Harbaugh donated his salary in his ultimate wisdom, call it friends of the program, today it's legal.

I think KF’s decision is based on that no one will tell him how to do good job. If he changes qbs now, it looks like he is giving into fans

you guys blame petras far more than you should... where's the deep ball? it doesn't always have to he completed just an option. throwing a deep ball opens up the defense up and gives some breathing room for not only the run game but also the pass game... Brian isn't doing anything

I'll always respect what Kirk has done for this program but it might be time to move on.
